Webacy Block Awards: Bringing Integrity Back to Web3

Welcome to the Webacy Block Awards: Bringing Integrity Back to Web3

2023 was a turning point for Web3. We survived another downturn and another big question mark about the longevity, value, and influence of web3 technology and its assets as an industry. Those who continue to build are here to stay, and are continuing the journey of building with a global movement in technology that revolutionizes ownership, participation, capital markets, and personal finance. The most important aspects of any revolution in technology are the people that play in the arena. Today, we’re celebrating that with the announcement of the 2023/2024 Webacy Block Awards. Some of our celebrated winners include ZachXBT, Anthony Pompliano, or “Pomp”, Fonz of Tokenproof, Zeneca of ZenAcademy, Brian Armstrong of Coinbase, NFT_God, or Alex Finn, Chris Coffee of Ninjalerts, 0xQuit, and more. The focus of the awards were to also recognize and highlight new voices in the space.

Why the Block Awards? We realized that there was no yearly celebration of people of the highest integrity in three categories: Trustworthy Voices, Educational Voices, and Safety & Security Voices. We enlisted the help of judges from three of the most reputable organizations in our space: Rob Behnke, CEO at Halborn, Marta Cura, Director at ENS, and Jose Rodrigo Safdiye at Benzinga Crypto. Through two months of deliberation and voting across multiple attributes, we finally arrived at our final 30 award recipients.

Here were the judging criteria across categories:

  • Safety and Security Voices: knowledge and expertise, teaching effectiveness, clarity of communication, up-to-date information, real-world relevance, and contribution to the engineering community.
  • Trustworthy Voices: transparency and integrity, consistency and accountability, credibility and endorsements, community trust and support, ethical advocacy.
  • Educational Voices: knowledge and expertise, teaching effectiveness, clarity of communication, up-to-date information, real-world relevance, and additional roles in the community they’ve volunteered to serve.

We invite you all to celebrate these winners. Show the world that there are amazing people that continue to serve the space and remain a bastion of integrity and trustworthiness - especially in an industry that is still rebuilding its name in the broader technology ecosystem as one that can be trusted and will remain a core part of people’s daily lives for years to come.

About Webacy

Webacy has been building the penultimate security suite of products to protect users and their digital assets through a Safety Score, a Wallet Monitoring System, and a Panic Button. Through a unique “Assess, Monitor, Act” framework, Webacy monitors over 400,000 transactions and wallets a month through its consumer dashboard, and helps protect countless projects through its EmbeddedSafety API products.

Webacy recognizes individual safety contributions not only through award programs like the Block Awards but also through its own Leaderboard program

Recognizing safety, and rewarding safety and integrity, are two of the most powerful ways to continue to encourage a culture of safety in web3. These movements can only happen day to day through initiatives that change outside perspectives and help those in our own communities be cognizant of how small behaviors can make a big difference.

It’s a Safe World After All,
