You ask, we answer. The Webacy Safety Leaderboard FAQ

Since unveiling Season 2 of our Safety Ranking Leaderboard, we've received numerous questions about how the leaderboard works. To provide clarity, we've compiled a set of frequently asked questions.

What are Webacy points?

Points measure your safety in Web3 on the Webacy Safety Leaderboard. The higher your points, the safer your wallet is considered. We launched this program to help motivate safer behavior in Web3, which is sorely needed.

How do I earn points?

You earn points by engaging in safe behavior within the Web3 ecosystem such as using Webacy tools, avoiding unsafe projects, maintaining appropriate approval hygiene on your wallet (i.e. checking approvals and revoking when necessary), and encouraging others to prioritize safety through referring them to use Webacy and creating safety content on X and beyond.

How long does it take for the points to be reflected on the leaderboard?

Points are reflected on the leaderboard in real-time on a 24-hour rolling basis, providing an up-to-date ranking of users based on their safety practices. Some portions of the points algorithm are re-calculated daily, and some even monthly, so you can expect to see some variance in scores. If there are bonuses, those may take up to 72 hours to reflect on your score.

Why did my points decrease?

Points may decrease if you engage in unsafe projects or transactions, interact with compromised assets, or have other kinds of unsafe activity in the ecosystem. The leaderboard rewards safe behavior, and negative actions can impact your ranking.

What are the benefits of points?

First and foremost, points will represent your aggregate safety behavior on Web3. You should be proud of your score! More importantly, you need to earn points before you can use them. This is just the beginning of Webacy Points, and we have a lot of exciting plans coming up — we'll share more soon. Follow our Twitter/X account for live updates.

What chains are eligible to earn points on?

Webacy Safety Leaderboard recognizes safe behavior on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism, with more chains coming soon.

How do I keep track of my points?

Your points and ranking are visible on the Webacy main dashboard, providing a convenient way to monitor your safety score and progress over time.

Are points on-chain?

Points aren’t on-chain at the moment. Webacy tracks and distributes points off-chain.

Is there a leaderboard?

Yes, there is a seasonal Safety Ranking Leaderboard that displays user rankings based on points earned for safe behavior in the Web3 ecosystem. The leaderboard promotes public safety and trustworthiness within the community.

What are Seasons?

We create seasonal periods of time to earn points with different flavors, and to mix things up with different themes and focuses, as well as multipliers. Keep your eyes and ears peeled to our Twitter/X and Discord for more hints and announcements!
